Woke up this morning and felt ill. Despite almost 11 hours of sleep I was tired, had a headache, and my body was sore. This was the first time I've been sick in almost 3 years, so I know that when this thing fully hits me it's gonna hit me like a truck. But, nonetheless I had to go into work today.

When I got in the office this morning I did my daily routine of checking that the network was all online (which it was), and checking the printer supplies and paper. Once I verified everything was fine I got to working on getting this printer to be able to scan a document and email it somebody. I've been dealing with this for the past week and a half or so, with nothing to show for it. I configured it's DNS', set up the SMTP, among many other things trying whatever I could to get it to work. It wasn't until today where I was reading some random site for a fix mentioned a SMTP mail server address, smtp.gmail.com, which I hadn't seen before when I got the printer to search for one. I plugged that server address in, restarted the printer, scanned, and bam it finally worked. After almost two weeks and trying so many different things, the issue was that all the SMTP servers the printer found were bad. It felt so good to finally be able to put this long running issue to rest, but then it dawned on me. I completed one of the only goals I had and had nothing to replace it with.

This lack of something to work on got me thinking about what I can do to fill the time during work hours when there's nothing to work on and everything is going well, which is what made me think to do this. Not even as in doing a blog or whatever, just doing something random that is somewhat tech related. I've recently been thinking about how the internet went from small pockets of communities and personal pages, to all these pages and communities being hosted on one large site that has made them all sort of mesh and mold together. LindyMan on twitter has gone into detail on this before, I recommend digging around and seeing what he has to say. Anyway, when I got thinking of this shift from small pockets to one meeting ground I thought, what's stopping these small pockets from exisiting anyways? The answer, is nothing. So I came here, and now I'm doing this. To what end? I have no idea. Improve "writing" skills, get thoughts out there, idk. Whatever happens, happens
